Custom Drapery

Covers Canada offers a complete in-house selection of custom drapery. Fabricated in our own workrooms, we take pride in producing top quality drapery and accessories for your home or office.

Our products range from full drapery treatments to side panels and valances. Draperies can bring to life and complete the look you desire for any room. Functional drapery has many benefits beyond style. It can do all the hard work of blocking and or dimming light, provide sound control, and reduce heat and cold in the room. We will assist you to ensure that you receive what is just right for you!

Decorative Side Panels are a modern choice in today’s home décor. They can easily be tied into other fabrics in the room and add a great punch of colour while softening the look and feel of the room.

Covers Designers Edge Signature Fabric Collection is a special selection of the most current designs from our top fabric houses. We offer this fabric collection at exceptional discounts. See our entire collection in our showrooms.

We offer our custom drapes with several header options including traditional pinch pleats, inverted pleats, tack top, grommets, rod pocket and straps as well as the very popular ripplefold or wave drapes.

Ripplefold and Wave Drapes

Ripplefold is a non-pleated header style that requires specific hardware to create the vertical waves or folds of the fabric to create a light, casual flowing aesthetic. Wave drapes work in a similar fashion with a specific ‘wave’ tape attached to the header of the drape. The advantage of wave is that the fullness can be easily adjusted whereby ripplefold is pre-determined by the snap spacing of the tape used. The finished look of both of these options is very similar.

Grommet

Grommet panels have become one of the most popular styles of drapery. The simple design utilizes large rings that attach by the grommets sewn into the drape header. Grommet panels offer a casual fun aesthetic that can also be dressed up for a more formal look. Grommets are excellent for side panels. We generally don’t recommend grommet panels for functional drapery, as the rings can be hard to open and close - especially with longer, larger drapes. Rings with plastic inserts will allow for easier movement of the drapes along the rod.

Pinch

Also known as “French Pleat” or “3 Finger Pinch Pleat”, this style is the most traditional and widely used across the industry. Pinch Pleated draperies create a full, classic appearance and are well suited to providing full coverage light blockage.

Pocket

Pocket panel drapes are known for their upper panel which is sewn tightly to the overhanging rod that the drape suspends from. This sewing creates the distinct folding patterns found in these panels, and are offered in various colours and fabrics perfect for light control, or decoration.

Strap

Strap panels are drapes that are suspended by strap-like appendages, and feature special siding which can be tailored for specific interest. These special strap-like accents give this particular model its own character by squeezing the top part of the drape into triangular segments. The rest of the drape flows downward in an inverted, almost hour-glass shape.

Hardware

Drapery Hardware refers to the mechanical components or poles that the drapes hang from. Hardware comes in all shapes and sizes, both decorative and completely functional. Traditionally, sheers were hung from basic I-beam while the functional drapery was hung on traversing or fixed decorative rods.

There has been a proliferation of available hardware options from many vendors that include all types of finishes from oil rubbed bronze to antique wood, and everything in between. We offer traditional decorative rods ranging diameter from 1 to 2 inch, as well as modern sleek new designs. Explore some of the options in our hardware section. It’s best to visit our showroom to see the variety of options available from our many vendors.
